Wasted
words and music by Dick Gist
Getting home at 5am everday from work gets exhausting. One night I decided I would try to walk home from town. This journey is approximately 14 miles. I was inebriated & ready to go.....
Im wasted, and I missed the last train
There wont be another one again
Im slowly drifting down this street
Drunk & alone
Lost in the corner of my mind
Hoping that it finds its way
Up ahead it looks like a good time
I'd best just stay away
I stumble my way through the city
making my way to the trees
Having trouble finding my way
I need to stop and follow the breeze
Walking along this creekbed
Skippn' a stone or two
Gonna lay under this old oak tree
Sleep until the sky turns blue
There wont be another one again
Im slowly drifting down this street
Drunk & alone
Lost in the corner of my mind
Hoping that it finds its way
Up ahead it looks like a good time
I'd best just stay away
I stumble my way through the city
making my way to the trees
Having trouble finding my way
I need to stop and follow the breeze
Walking along this creekbed
Skippn' a stone or two
Gonna lay under this old oak tree
Sleep until the sky turns blue
